Classic Car Raffle Official Rules
Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Waukegan
The Rotary Club of Waukegan is a charitable organization located in Waukegan, IL. Our mission is to foster the ideal of community service, promote high ethical standards in business and professions, and advance understanding, goodwill, and peace through fellowship of persons united by serving local and global society.
The Rotary Club of Waukegan provides financial and/or personal support to PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter and Support Services), Feed the Hungry, programs dedicated to improve literacy within the jurisdictions of Waukegan Public Library and Waukegan School District #60, Boys & Girls Club, Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, Waukegan Park District, Polio Plus, International Student Exchange, and other designated local and global charities prescribed and approved by Rotary International.
DONATIONS
For each $20.00 donation, a single raffle entry will be generated for the donor. For each $100.00 donation, 6 raffle entries will be generated for the donor. Checks or money orders should be made out to Rotary Club of Waukegan. A "donation" shall not occur and be binding on the Rotary Club of Waukegan until funds received for the same have cleared the bank. Credit cards accepted for in-person donations, PayPal account funds are acceptable for online donations. Raffle donations may be made online at www.waukeganrotarycarraffle.org or in-personal any site designated as an official outlet or where the car is on display. Donations are not tax deductible.
Each donation shall constitute an "entry" into the raffle drawing, and the person to whom the entry is registered shall be the "entrant." Although more than one name may be provided on the entry registration form, the entry shall be registered to the first name listed, who shall constitute the sole Entrant for that ticket. The winning Entrant shall be the "winner" of the prize. Delivery of prize will be made to the Entrant. The winner must supply his/her social security number before the prize is tendered. It is the sole responsibility of the Entrant to allocate a winning prize to other participants in case of a multiple entry registration, and the winning Entrant shall hold harmless The Rotary Club of Waukegan in case of conflicting claims or disputes among multiple claimants.

Alternate form of entry -- no purchase/donation necessary: To enter by mail, send via U.S. Postal service a 3X5 card with your name, address and daytime telephone number, and email address in a #10 envelope to The Rotary Club of Waukegan, 2008 Classic Car Raffle, P.O. Box 8728, Waukegan, IL 60079-8728. All entries must be received by 1:00 p.m. July 11, 2008.
Raffle promoters and/or the Rotary Club of Waukegan are not responsible for lost or stolen entries. Raffle entries will be disqualified, at the sole discretion of the Rotary Club of Waukegan, if attempts are made to disrupt the Raffle or circumvent the terms and conditions of these Official Rules. If the above occurs, the Rotary Club of Waukegan reserves the right to remedy any such action, disruption, or circumvention in a manner, determined solely by the Rotary Club of Waukegan that is fair and equitable to Raffle participants.
The Rotary Club of Waukegan, its members, officers, directors, agents, and representatives and their parent organizations, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising, promotion and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or unintelligible entries; (ii) failed, returned, or misdirected notifications based on inaccurate information provided by the winner; or (iii) telephone, electronic, hardware, or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties resulting from participation in this Raffle of otherwise; (iv) errors in transmission; (v) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Rotary Club of Waukegan that may cause the Raffle to be disrupted or corrupted (vi) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by a prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of a prize, or from participation in the Raffle; or (vii) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Raffle.
QUANTITY OF ENTRIES
The maximum number of entries offered via donation is 10,000. Requests for entries and therefore donations received after all entries are assigned or following the drawing, will be returned to the entrant(s).
ELIGIBILITY
Entrants must be legal residents of the United States and 18 years of age or older on, or before, July 12, 2008. The Entrant must supply his/her social security number to receive winning prize. If an Entrant's check or credit card is dishonored prior to the drawing, the entry ticket will be declared invalid, until a replacement donation is received. All check or credit card charges found dishonored after the drawing must be honored. A $20.00 charge will be assessed for non-sufficient funds or stop payment checks.
DRAWING
Complete entries must be in the possession of the Rotary Club of Waukegan by 1:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, July 11, 2008 unless otherwise personally delivered to an authorized representative of the Rotary Club of Waukegan before the time of the drawing. The Raffle will take place on, July 12, 2008 with a random drawing during the Scoopin' Genesee celebration held at a public location in Waukegan, IL as designated by the City of Waukegan Scoopin' Genesee planning committee. If not depleted prior to the event, entries will be available via donation until the time of the drawing. Making a donation does not entitle the donor to any consideration or special dispensation at the Scoopin' Genesee event. The winner, if not present, will be notified within 7 business days. It is the responsibility of the donor/entrant to provide a valid, deliverable mailing address, phone and/or email address for notification.
PRIZES
The winner will receive a 1969 Oldsmobile 442 with an official appraisal value of no less that $32,000. The winner need not be present at the drawing to win and must present their entry stub when claiming the prize. The winner must claim their prize within 14 days from notification, per directions provided in the notification letter. He/she is responsible for picking up the car on a date, time and site within Lake County, IL. designated by the Rotary Club of Waukegan. Failure to claim the prize within 14 days will result in forfeiture of the prize.
All federal, state and local income, sales and/or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with the the prize, are the responsibility of the holder of the winning ticket. The IRS has taken the position that amounts donated for chances to participate in raffles, lotteries or similar programs are not gifts and, therefore, the price of the entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution. Winner must complete a W-9 form before receiving prize. For further information, consult your qualified financial advisor.
In the event a minimum of 2,000 donations are not received by July 12, 2008, The Rotary Club of Waukegan reserves the right to withdraw the car prize and pay 50% of the net proceeds up to $20,000 to one winner.
WAIVER/LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
Entrants release the Rotary Club of Waukegan, City of Waukegan, and their respective boards, committee members, officers, volunteers, and representative agents from any and all liability with respect to participation in the promotion and possession of the prize. Any liability of the Rotary Club of Waukegan shall be limited to the donation amount. In case of a dispute, the Rotary's decision shall be final. The Rotary Club of Waukegan is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.
Entrant agrees to allow the Rotary Club of Waukegan to use his/her name and/or image without any compensation for any promotional activity related to this or any future raffle. Any and all addresses and contact information of the purchaser will not be released to the public.
